At Caesarstone, it’s one of our mantras: the kitchen is the heart of the home. A well-designed kitchen has the power to transform the entire energy of one’s abode. It’s a place to gather, to prepare and entertain, and with some simple designs, kitchens have the potential to be the most versatile space you have. Here are some trends to lookout for in 2019.
ISLANDS THAT DO MORE
A kitchen island is the centrepiece of most modern kitchens, but today, the island can serve many different roles. It can be a storage space for appliances, it can be a cooktop surface, but the latest trend is upgrading one’s kitchen island with a dedicated dining space that’s set apart by contrasting counters in different heights and materials, and brings people together like a more casual kitchen table.
WHITE WITH WOOD
Two-tone kitchens are nothing new, but recently the trend has really been explored with different textures and colours, and this is something that will only continue in 2019. One combination we expect to see in particular is natural wood in the kitchen, especially contrasted with bright whites. Together, these colours and textures provide a look that’s indulgent and luxurious yet still soothing and warm.
Minimalism still reigns supreme, and nothing busies up a space like exposed handles and out of place hardware. Touch-latch drawers and recessed pulls are a great alternative to traditional handles. The clean look emphasizes the beauty of the materials, and the result is drawers, cabinets and storages spaces that hint at custom millwork.
Dishware itself can be a work of art, and if you have beautiful dishware, why not let it shine? This trend isn’t just for fine China or displaying pricey cognac glasses anymore. In fact, it’s better to put those in closed cabinets so as not to collect dust. This is for your everyday stuff that requires easy access and quick mobility. Your open shelving can also be for food itself, which can serve as a gorgeous decoration accent with the right jars and vessels.
